In exciting Figtree Heights news, School Vice Captain, Nathanael Burns competed in the Regional Finals of Number Crunchers recently at Mount St Thomas Public School. Number Crunchers is an exciting and challenging mathematics competition for Year 6 students. Students participating in Number Crunchers enjoy the challenge and thrill of performing mental mathematics to an audience and completing jumbled Rubik's cubes in lightning fast times. Nate was superior in his Number Cruncher round and won, meaning he will now participate in the State final in Sydney on September 3. The top number crunchers will be competing for the title of Grand Champion and Runner-up Champion. Nate also performed extremely well in the Rubik's Cube challenge, completing his cube in 1 minute and 12 seconds, no mean feat! Congratulations, Nate! We can't wait to hear how you go at the State Final.
